Write review request texts without offering incentives
Practice: Setting limits and rules. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You own Clearview Auto Glass and want to text customers asking for a review after a repair. Write exactly 3 numbered text templates, each under 30 words, each starting with "Hi [First name]," and including the review link. Don't offer anything in exchange and don't ask only happy customers, and reply with only the plain-text list.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Offering a reward. "Get $10 off for a review" is in the old texts and common online. Try: Add: "No incentive of any kind, and don't ask for 5 stars."
- Review gating. The AI copies "if you were happy..." which filters out unhappy customers. Try: Add: "Ask everyone the same way. No if-you-were-happy."
- Missing the basics. The AI forgets the placeholder or the link. Try: Add: "Start with Hi [First name], include clearview.glass/review."
- Getting labeled variants. The AI bolds variant labels and explains each one. Try: Add: "Exactly 3 numbered lines, plain text."
What a strong prompt includes

- Rules out gating
