Plan three days of posts with a one-day-only offer
Practice: Setting limits and rules. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You own Thimble & Thread, a fabric shop, and are posting Thursday, Friday and Saturday before and during Small Business Saturday. Write exactly 3 numbered posts labeled Thursday:, Friday: and Saturday:, each under 30 words. The 15% offer is Saturday only, so make that clear in every post that mentions it, never add a code, and use plain text with no hashtags.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Letting the sale spread. The AI writes "Sale starts now!" on Friday because promos usually run all weekend. Try: Add: "The 15% is Saturday only, in store. Say so each time."
- Inventing a code. The AI adds a code like SHOPSMALL15 for online shoppers. Try: Add: "No code, no online sale."
- Missing the closed day. The AI writes a sales post for Thanksgiving. Try: Add: "Thursday: thank customers, say we're closed."
- Hashtag walls and Black Friday. The AI adds #ShopSmall #BlackFriday and more. Try: Add: "No hashtags. Never say Black Friday."
- One post, not three. The AI writes one promo post with a schedule note, in bold. Try: Add: "Exactly 3 numbered posts labeled by day, plain text."
What a strong prompt includes
- Names the 3 days
- Keeps the offer Saturday-only
- Rules out a code
- Rules out hashtags and Black Friday
- Limits each post
