Write booth opener lines for each kind of trade show visitor
Practice: Saying who it's for. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're prepping booth staff for Coldline Logistics at a food distribution trade show. Write exactly 3 numbered lines in the shape Visitor type: opener line, one each for the 3 visitor types in your notes, each opener under 18 words and built on that visitor's top worry. Don't mention the giveaway (it was cancelled), and reply with only the plain-text list.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- One pitch for everyone. The AI writes a single elevator pitch about the company. Try: Ask for one opener per visitor type.
- Pitching features, not worries. The AI leads with features instead of the visitor's problem. Try: Add: "Build each opener on that visitor's top worry."
- Promising the giveaway. "Stop by for a free cooler!" is a classic booth line, and it's in the notes. Try: Add: "No giveaway. No 15% fuel claim."
- Getting a script. The AI writes a full booth script with bold sections. Try: Add: "Exactly 3 numbered lines, plain text."
What a strong prompt includes
- Names the visitor types
- Builds on their worry
- Drops the giveaway
- Sets the line shape
- Asks for only the list
