Write a webinar reminder text with the right time zone
Practice: Setting limits and rules. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're sending an SMS reminder for tomorrow's Brightloop webinar to people who registered. Write one text under 35 words that gives the time in both Eastern and Pacific, includes the short link, and ends with the exact line "Reply STOP to opt out". No emojis and no exclamation points, plain text only.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Giving only one time. The AI copies 2pm ET and forgets most registrants are on the West Coast. Try: Add: "Give both: 2pm ET / 11am PT."
- Missing the compliance line. The AI doesn't know your SMS vendor's rule. Try: Add: "End with exactly: Reply STOP to opt out"
- Copying the old reminder's style. The AI picks up the emojis and caps from the last text. Try: Add: "No emojis, no exclamation points, no caps."
- Trusting the AI to count words. Reminders come back at 50+ words, splitting into 3 texts. Try: Cap it: "2 sentences under 10 words each, then the STOP line."
- Getting a formatted draft. The AI adds a bold label like "SMS:" and notes on character count. Try: Add: "Output only the text, plain."
What a strong prompt includes
- Gives both time zones
- Uses the short link
- Adds the opt-out line
- Rules out emojis and shouting
- Sets a word limit
