Write win-back subject lines without guilt or discounts
Practice: Getting the tone right. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're emailing lapsed customers of Juniper Meals, a meal-prep delivery service, about the new menu. Write exactly 4 numbered subject lines, each under 8 words, each naming something new from the notes. No guilt lines ("we miss you", "where did you go"), no discount (none approved), and reply with only the plain-text list.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Guilt-tripping. "We miss you!" is the AI's default win-back line. Try: Add: "No we miss you, come back or where did you go."
- Adding a discount. Win-back emails in the AI's training always include an offer. Try: Add: "No discount or percent off."
- Vague lines. The AI writes "Big changes inside" without saying what. Try: Add: "Each names one new thing, aimed at why people left."
- Getting a long list. The AI gives 10 options in bold groups. Try: Add: "Exactly 4 numbered lines, plain text."
What a strong prompt includes

- Names what's new
- Rules out guilt
- Rules out discounts
- Asks for only the list
