Summarize interview panel feedback with counts and fair reasons
Practice: Setting limits and rules. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
Four interviewers sent feedback on a candidate, and the hiring manager wants the summary. You want at most 3 bullets under 60 words, plain text: the panel's recommendation first, then strengths and concerns, each with how many interviewers said it (like 3 of 4). Include only job-related points, leaving out comments about personal life. Write a prompt that gets you exactly that.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Not asking for counts. The AI writes 'some interviewers' so the manager can't weigh it. Try: Add: "Give how many interviewers said each point, like 3 of 4."
- Copying personal comments. The AI includes the wedding as a 'consideration'. Try: Add: "Only job-related points. Nothing about personal life."
- Burying the recommendation. The AI lists each interviewer in order. Try: Add: "First bullet: the panel's recommendation with the count."
- Not limiting the bullets. The AI writes a paragraph per interviewer. Try: Be exact: "At most 3 bullets, plain text."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for "under 60 words" and it often lands well over. Try: Cap each part instead: "each line under 14 words."
What a strong prompt includes

- Asks for counts
