About this exercise
Explain the commission accelerator to reps with one worked example. Write exactly 4 plain-text lines starting Up to quota:, Above quota:, Total:, Note:. Show the math in each of the first three lines. The Note line must be exactly "This is an illustration, not a payout statement." Use the 2026 plan, not the old flat rate.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the old flat rate. The AI computes 10% of $550,000. Try: Add: "Use the 2026 plan, not the old flat rate."
- Applying 12% to everything. The AI multiplies all ACV by the accelerator. Try: Add: "12% applies only above quota."
- Missing the disclaimer. The AI skips or rewords the note. Try: Add: "Note must be exactly: This is an illustration, not a payout statement."
- Long explanation. The AI adds paragraphs. Try: Add: "4 plain-text lines, under 70 words."
What a strong prompt includes
