Compare commit with closed by rep and flag the boundaries correctly
- For Managers and team leads
- You practice Setting limits and rules
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Make a markdown table with columns Rep | Commit | Closed | Closed vs commit | Flag, one row per rep. Closed vs commit = closed divided by commit as a whole-number percent. Flag is "Sandbag" if the ratio is above 120%, "Over-commit" if below 80%, otherwise "OK" (exactly 120% and exactly 80% are OK). No bold, nothing outside the table, under 80 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Flagging exactly 120%. The AI flags Dev as Sandbag. Try: Add: "Exactly 120% and exactly 80% are OK."
- Ratio inverted. The AI divides commit by closed. Try: Add: "Closed divided by commit."
- Following the director. The AI agrees Dev is sandbagging. Try: Add: "Apply the rule, not opinions."
- Extra text and bold. The AI adds commentary and bold. Try: Add: "Nothing outside the table, no bold."
What a strong prompt includes
- Names the columns
- Defines the ratio
- States the boundaries
- Uses the rule not opinion
- Table only
