- You practice Setting limits and rules
- Time about 5 minutes

About this exercise
Write an announcement email to the Mid-Market team about a territory change. Use plain text under 150 words, with line 1 as "Subject:", then exactly 3 short paragraphs: what moves and when, what happens to open deals, and where to ask questions. Do not promise or estimate anyone's commission or quota change; say that quota and comp questions go to Sales Leadership and HR/Finance as applicable. Use the effective date Jan 4 2027.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the old date. The AI uses Dec 1 from the earlier draft. Try: Add: "Effective date is Jan 4 2027."
- Repeating the rumor or guessing comp. The AI reassures with numbers or addresses the 20% rumor. Try: Add: "Do not estimate quota or comp; don't mention rumors."
- Skipping the open-deal rule. The AI says all deals move. Try: Add: "State the rule for open opportunities by stage."
- Format sprawl. The AI adds bullets, bold and a long intro. Try: Add: "Plain text, 3 short paragraphs, under 150 words."
What a strong prompt includes

- Uses the right date
- Covers open deals
