About this exercise
A client asked for extra pages. Reply in plain text under 100 words, subject line first, starting "Hi Colm,". Show the quote as one line of math (pages x hours x rate), state the new delivery date, and ask him to reply "Approved" to proceed. Do not start the work before approval, and don't offer a discount. Use the agency's current rate.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the old rate. The AI uses $95. Try: Add: "Use the 2026 rate of $110."
- Math missing. The AI writes 'about $1,600'. Try: Add: "Show 3 x 5 x $110 = $1,650 in one line."
- Starting before approval. The AI says 'we've begun'. Try: Add: "Work starts after approval."
- Long email. The AI writes a long formatted email. Try: Add: "Plain text under 100 words."

- Sets the opener
- Asks for the math line
- States the new date
- Requires the approval phrase
- Bans discount and early start
