About this exercise
Write a short quote email to a new client. Show three lines of math in the body: the total, the 50% deposit due before work starts, and the balance due on delivery. Do not include the optional logo animation in the total. Mention the Dec 4 delivery date. Plain text, subject line first, under 90 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Adding the optional extra. The AI sums every price on the sheet to $1,600. Try: Add: "Leave out the optional animation from the total."
- Math not shown. The AI says "half up front" without numbers. Try: Add: "Show total, deposit and balance as separate lines with dollar amounts."
- Missing the condition. The AI gives the date with no condition. Try: Add: "Say the date depends on the deposit arriving by Nov 13."
- Long formatted email. The AI writes bold headings and a long intro. Try: Add: "Plain text, subject first, under 90 words."
What a strong prompt includes
