Script a 25-second permission-based cold call opener
- For Sales and customer success
- You practice Giving the right context
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Write a cold call opener to Maribel Quint, a facilities director, as a spoken script in plain text under 60 words. Use exactly 3 lines: Line 1 states your name and company in 8 words or fewer, line 2 is an honest permission question ("Did I catch you at a bad time?" style but in your own words), line 3 gives one reason for the call using only the trigger in the notes. No fake familiarity, no "how are you", no claims about results.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Starting with small talk. The AI says 'How are you today?' Try: Add: "No how-are-you; line 2 is a permission question."
- Claiming results. The AI adds 'we cut bills 20%'. Try: Add: "No claims about results."
- Long script. The AI writes a full pitch. Try: Add: "3 lines under 60 words."
What a strong prompt includes
- Fixes 3 lines
- Limits the intro
- Asks for permission
- Uses the trigger
- Bans claims
