- For Sales and customer success
- You practice Giving the right context
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Write the price-increase notice email to customers. Plain text under 110 words, subject line first, starting "Hi there,". State the new price, the effective date and the date it first affects a customer's invoice using the notes, say what stays the same, and tell customers to email billing for questions. Don't call it an "investment" or say it is "to serve you better", and don't promise no future increases. Line 1 must be exactly "Subject: Fieldline Team plan price change from Jan 1 2027".
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using spin language. The AI says 'to invest in the product'. Try: Add: "No invest or serve you better wording."
- Promising stability. The AI says 'prices won't change again soon'. Try: Add: "Don't promise no future increases."
- Missing the invoice date or what stays. The AI omits when it first applies. Try: Add: "State when the first affected invoice is and what stays the same."
- Long formatted email. The AI writes headings and bold. Try: Add: "Plain text under 110 words, subject first."
What a strong prompt includes
