- For Finance and accounting
- You practice Catching mistakes and made-up facts
- Time about 5 minutes
About this exercise
Your controller wants to know what share of open receivables is more than 60 days old. A payment that has arrived but isn't applied yet means that invoice is no longer open. Write exactly 4 numbered lines labeled Open total:, Over 60:, Share: and Biggest risk:, each showing its math, where Biggest risk: names the customer with the most money over 60 days. Plain text, under 90 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the report total. The AI divides by 50,000, which still includes Dart's paid invoice, and gets 24%. Try: Add: "A payment received but not applied means the invoice isn't open."
- No math shown. The controller can't check a bare percent. Try: Show it: "Share: 12,000 / 40,000 = 30%."
- No customer named. The AI gives the percent but not who to chase first. Try: Add: "Biggest risk: the customer with the most over 60 days."
- Long or formatted output. AI adds collection advice in bold. Try: Add: "Only the 4 lines, plain text."
What a strong prompt includes
- Handles the paid invoice
- Asks to show the math
- Names the 4 labels
- Defines over 60
- Asks for plain text
