Get hint questions on a missed SAT math problem
Practice: Setting limits and rules. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You missed an SAT practice word problem and want to find your own mistake, the way a tutor would make you. Get exactly 3 numbered hint questions, under 60 words total, plain text, with no answer, no correct number and no explanation. The first question should point you toward what your percent was taken of, and every question must be about this problem.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Asking what you did wrong. The AI's default is to solve the problem and show the right answer, so you read it instead of finding it. Try: Say: "Don't solve it or give me the answer. Only ask questions."
- Not saying how many questions. The AI picks its own number, and it usually picks more questions than you need. Try: Be exact: "Exactly 3 numbered questions."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total and it often lands 20% over. Try: Cap each one: "each question under 15 words."
- Not saying where to start. The AI may open with a general tip instead of the mistake that matters most. Try: Add: "The first question should make me think about what the percent is taken of."
- Forgetting where it will be read. AI formats for a screen, with bold and headings that show up as stray symbols in your notes. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
