About this exercise

You're refreshing your app's App Store screenshots and need 3 matching backgrounds from Midjourney; the real app screenshots get placed on top later. Get Claude to write exactly 3 numbered Midjourney prompts, plain text, under 200 words in total. Each repeats the same style line with both hex codes word for word, keeps the center empty for the phone frame, ends with --ar 9:19 and the same --no list, and includes no phones, app screens or text.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Generating fake app screens. The AI draws a phone with a made-up interface, which can misrepresent features. Try: Add: "No phones, no app screens, no UI."
  • Different looks per image. The AI varies the style, so the store page looks unplanned. Try: Add: "Repeat the same style line with the hex codes word for word."
  • No room for the phone. The shapes fill the center, where the screenshot goes. Try: Add: "Center empty for the phone frame."
  • Wrong shape. Without --ar 9:19, Midjourney makes squares. Try: End each with --ar 9:19.
  • Headings and notes. The AI bolds labels and adds tips. Try: Add: "Exactly 3 numbered prompts, plain text."

What a strong prompt includes

  • Asks for 3 prompts
  • Repeats the style with colors
  • Keeps the center empty
  • Sets the tall shape
  • Rules out fake UI
