Explain beta program rules to sales reps in three lines
Practice: Setting limits and rules. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
Sales reps keep offering the beta to the wrong customers. Explain the rules in exactly 3 numbered lines labeled 'Who:', 'Say:' and 'Never:', each under 18 words, using the current eligibility rule. The Say line must include the approved one-sentence pitch in quotation marks. Plain text, nothing else. Write a prompt that gets that.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Writing a full enablement doc. The AI writes a page of sections, FAQs and objection handling. Try: Show it: "Exactly 3 numbered lines: 1. Who: ... 2. Say: ... 3. Never: ..."
- Old rule, reworded pitch. The AI may use the old 50-seat rule and paraphrase the approved pitch. Try: Say it: "25+ seats, Pro or Enterprise, monthly feedback call. Quote the pitch word for word."
- Missing the don'ts. The AI focuses on selling and skips the promises reps must not make. Try: Add: "Never: promise a launch date or that it stays free. Nothing else. Plain text."
What a strong prompt includes
- Gives the labels
- Uses the current rule
- Keeps the pitch exact
- Covers what not to promise
- Asks for plain text
