Answer a transfer application's 90-day plan question
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're applying to transfer to the Growth team. The form asks what you'd do in your first 90 days. Answer in exactly 3 numbered lines labeled 'Days 1-30:', 'Days 31-60:' and 'Days 61-90:', each under 25 words, tied to the team's posted goal and current numbers. No buzzwords ('synergy', 'leverage', 'move the needle', 'deep dive'). Plain text. Write a prompt that gets that answer.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Writing an essay. The AI writes paragraphs about your philosophy of product management. Try: Show it: "Exactly 3 numbered lines: 1. Days 1-30: ..."
- Ignoring their numbers. The AI writes a generic plan that could apply to any team, or uses the draft 24%. Try: Add: "Tie it to the 22% to 30% goal and the 41% bank-step drop-off."
- Buzzword soup. AI 90-day plans are full of "leverage synergies" and "deep dives". Try: Ban them: "No synergy, leverage, move the needle or deep dive. Plain text."
What a strong prompt includes

- Uses their numbers
- Bans buzzwords
- Limits each line
