Report your sales numbers accurately on a team application
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're applying to join a top real estate team. The form asks for your last 12 months of production in under 60 words. Count only closed deals, give the sales volume, your average days on market and your license number (DRE #02214567), and make no rank claims ('top producer', 'top 1%', '#1'). End with the one thing you want to learn from the team. Write a prompt that gets that answer.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for "under 60 words" and it often lands well over. Try: Cap each part: "3 sentences, each under 18 words."
- Counting deals that fell through. The notes list 16 under contract. The AI may report 16 instead of 14 closed. Try: Say it: "Report 14 closed deals and $5.2 million."
- Leaving out the strongest stat. The AI may skip days on market, your best number. Try: Add: "Include 19 average days on market vs 31, and my license, DRE #02214567."
- Overselling. AI applications add "top producer" or "#1 agent", which a team lead can check. Try: Add: "No rank claims. End with wanting to learn luxury listing presentations."
