Brief an assistant to turn a blog post into scheduled social posts
- For Marketing and content
- You practice Keeping the AI to your sources
- Time about 5 minutes
About this exercise
You want an AI assistant to turn your new blog post into 3 LinkedIn posts. Write its brief: use only claims from the post (the newest figure when two disagree), keep each post under 40 words including the link https://fernhill.co/blog/winter-knits, schedule them Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week at 9:00 a.m., and never publish anything now. Output exactly 4 numbered plain-text lines: 3 schedule_post lines, then DONE.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Not showing the log format. Left alone, the AI writes a friendly report with headings instead of a checkable action log. Try: Show it literally: "Format every line like 1. ACTION: tool(args), then ASK_HUMAN: and DONE: lines. Plain text."
- Allowing outside claims. The AI adds health benefits or stats it knows from elsewhere, or uses the older 48%. Try: Add: "Use only claims from the post. If figures disagree, use the newest."
- No length or link rule. The AI writes long LinkedIn essays and forgets the link. Try: Say: "Each post under 30 words plus the link."
- No schedule. The AI picks its own times or publishes right away. Try: Add: "Schedule Tue, Wed and Thu at 9:00 a.m. Never publish now."
