About this exercise

Write a feature announcement for account admins as exactly three lines starting "What it does:", "Who it helps:" and "How to turn it on:". Plain text, under 70 words. Do not use the words revolutionary, game-changing, seamless or powerful. State which plans get it.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Copying the marketing draft. The rejected headline uses hype words and the AI reuses them. Try: Say: "Banned words: revolutionary, game-changing, seamless, powerful."
  • Missing the plan limit. The AI says everyone gets it. Try: Say: "State Business and Enterprise only."
  • Wrong layout. The AI writes a promotional paragraph. Try: Name the three labels.
  • Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".

What a strong prompt includes

  • Asks for plain text
  • Sets a length limit
  • Names the labels
  • Bans hype words
