About this exercise
Compute NPS for each segment with NPS = (promoters - detractors) / responses x 100. Output a table with the header row exactly "Segment | Responses | NPS" and three rows, each NPS shown with the working like "(30 - 10) / 50 = 40". Then a last line starting "Lowest:" naming one segment. Plain text, under 80 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using averages. The AI ranks by average score as the analyst did. Try: Say: "Rank by NPS from the formula, not average scores."
- Dividing by the wrong total. The AI divides by 130 for every segment. Try: Say: "Divide by that segment's own responses."
- Wrong table. The AI adds columns or text. Try: Give the exact header row and the Lowest line.
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes

- Sets a length limit
