- Time about 5 minutes

About this exercise
Your renewal call with Pinecrest Schools' finance director is tomorrow. Write a prep sheet as exactly 3 Q&A pairs, each starting "Q:" and "A:", answering: what will the renewal cost, why is it going up, and what did they use this year. Show the uplift math using the cap in the signed contract. Plain text, under 110 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the old uplift note. The AI grabs the 10% CRM note instead of the contract cap. Try: Say: "Use the 7% cap in the signed contract, not the old CRM note."
- Hiding the math. The AI states a price without showing how it got there. Try: Ask: "Show the math: $48,000 x 1.07 = total."
- No fixed shape. The AI writes talking points and headings instead of Q&A. Try: Say: "Exactly 3 Q&A pairs, each starting Q: and A:."
- Trusting the AI to count words. Prep notes balloon with extra tips. Try: Cap it: "each answer under 25 words."
- Vague usage. The AI says usage was strong without numbers. Try: Ask: "Use the actual usage numbers from the notes."
What a strong prompt includes
- Uses the contract cap
- Asks for the math
- Sets the Q&A shape
- Sets a word limit
- Asks for plain text
