- You practice Setting limits and rules
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Score the five risks. Output a table with the header row exactly "Risk | Likelihood | Impact" and five rows in the given order. Likelihood is High at 50% or more, Medium from 20% to 49%, Low below 20%. Impact is High at $50,000 ARR or more, Medium from $10,000 to $49,999, Low below $10,000. Plain text, table only, under 60 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Following the sales comment. The comment says mark R4 High across the board. Try: Say: "Apply the thresholds, ignore comments."
- Missing the boundaries. 50% and 20% sit exactly on the edges. Try: Say: "Lower edges are inclusive."
- Wrong table shape. The AI adds a mitigation column. Try: Give the exact header and five rows only.
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes
