Put six tickets in queue order using stacked rules
- For Customer support teams
- You practice Setting limits and rules
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Put the six tickets in the order an agent should work them. Output a table with the header "Order | Ticket | Why" and six rows, Why in 5 words or fewer. Rules: tickets where the customer cannot pay come first, then cannot log in, then everything else. Inside a group, Enterprise before Pro before Free. After that, oldest first. Plain text, under 80 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Sorting by age first. The team lead comment says A-6 waited longest, and the AI puts it first. Try: Say: "Follow the stacked rules; age is only the last tie-break."
- Mixing the plan tiers. The AI ranks Enterprise first overall instead of inside each group. Try: Say: "Group first (cannot pay, cannot log in, other), then plan."
- Long reasons and extra text. The AI explains each pick in sentences. Try: Say: "Why: 5 words or fewer. Table only."
- Wrong header. The AI invents its own columns. Try: Give the exact header row.
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
What a strong prompt includes
- Asks for plain text
- Sets a length limit
