Text riders a new departure time in under 35 words
- For Customer support teams
- You practice Setting limits and rules
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Write an SMS to riders of the 8:50 AM Route 12 shuttle. Start with exactly "ShuttleGo:" and end with exactly "Reply HELP for help". Plain text, under 35 words. Give the new departure time and gate, and how late it is. Do not mention refunds or the driver.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Sharing internal details. The AI explains the driver situation. Try: Say: "Do not mention the driver."
- Missing delay size. The AI gives the new time but not how late. Try: Say: "Say it is 25 minutes late."
- Wrong opener or closer. The AI writes its own greeting and sign-off. Try: Give the exact start and end text.
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes

- Sets a length limit

- Bans refunds and the driver
