Rewrite three leading survey questions neutrally
- For Customer support teams
- You practice Getting the tone right
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Rewrite the three survey questions so they are neutral and measure one thing each. Exactly 3 numbered lines, one question per line, each 12 words or fewer and ending with a question mark. Do not use the words amazing, great, don't you, or and. Plain text.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Keeping the leading words. The AI softens but keeps 'great' or 'don't you agree'. Try: Say: "Banned words: amazing, great, don't you, and."
- Double-barreled Q3. The AI keeps helpful and friendly in one question. Try: Say: "Q3 measures helpfulness only."
- Long or extra text. The AI explains each rewrite. Try: Say: "3 numbered lines, 12 words or fewer, each ending with ?."
- Leaving the list shape open. The AI picks its own number of items and its own layout. Try: Show the shape: "exactly N numbered lines like: 1. Label: detail".
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
What a strong prompt includes
- Fixes the number of lines
- Asks for plain text
- Names the banned words
- Asks for one thing per question
