About this exercise

Write one line for each audience, in plain text, starting Customers:, Staff: and Investors:, each under 32 words. Customers: the new date and the credit, with no revenue figures. Staff: the cause and what changes for them, with no credit amount and no revenue figures. Investors: the revenue timing using only the approved range, with no customer credit. Use the latest date. Last line exactly: Comms and Legal review before release.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Leaking cross-audience details. The AI puts the revenue range in the customer line. Try: Say: "Customers: no revenue figures. Staff: no credit amount or revenue figures. Investors: no credit."
  • Using an old date. The AI uses January 12. Try: Say: "Use the latest date: January 19."
  • Adding uncleared items. The AI mentions layoffs or the cost of the fix. Try: Say: "Use only the cleared facts."
  • Wrong structure. The AI writes one announcement. Try: Say: "Three lines: Customers:, Staff:, Investors:, then the exact last line."
  • Markdown. The AI bolds labels. Try: Say: "Plain text."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
