About this exercise
Write the recap email you send to attendees within an hour of the meeting. Plain text, under 140 words, subject line first. Body: one sentence on the decision, then a line for each action in the form Name: task, by date, and a final sentence asking people to reply by end of day Friday if anything is wrong. No greeting like 'Hope you are well'.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using Wen's earlier day. The AI picks Thursday. Try: Say: "Wen's date is Wednesday Nov 6."
- Padding. The AI opens with 'Hope you're well'. Try: Say: "No greeting. Start with the decision."
- Listing non-actions. The AI adds Sol or the parking lot. Try: Say: "Only real actions; leave out the parking lot."
- No closing ask. The AI ends with 'Best'. Try: Say: "End asking for corrections by Friday."
- Markdown. The AI bolds names. Try: Say: "Plain text."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap it: "each action line under 18 words."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 12 words."
