About this exercise

Fill a brief for a new board director with exactly these labels, one per line, in plain text: Company:, Committees:, Key numbers:, Open issues:, First meeting:. Use the most recent figures where the notes give two. Key numbers has exactly three figures separated by semicolons. Under 100 words in all, and leave out anything labeled informal.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Using older figures. The AI quotes $212M and 6.1 percent. Try: Say: "Use the most recent figures where the notes give two."
  • Including the informal note. The AI mentions the CEO and CFO disagreement. Try: Say: "Leave out anything labeled informal."
  • Wrong count of figures. The AI lists five numbers. Try: Say: "Key numbers has exactly three figures separated by semicolons."
  • Changing the template. The AI adds headings and bullets. Try: Say: "Exactly these five labels in order, one per line."
  • Markdown. The AI bolds labels. Try: Say: "Plain text."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
