About this exercise

Fill a one-page brief for the CEO with exactly these labels, one per line, in plain text: Target:, Opening offer:, Trade we can give:, Never say aloud:, Internal only:. Opening offer is 10 percent below the target price, with the working. Trade we can give lists exactly two items from the notes. Never say aloud: names our maximum price. Internal only: states the gap between the supplier's last offer and our maximum, with the working. Under 110 words.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Including unapproved trades. The AI lists the public naming or a 5-year term. Try: Say: "Trades must be approved items from the notes; the CEO limits the term to 3 years."
  • Math slips. The AI computes the opening offer from the maximum. Try: Say: "Opening offer is 10 percent below the target price, with the working."
  • Missing the private number. The AI leaves the maximum out of Never say aloud. Try: Say: "Never say aloud names our maximum price."
  • Changing the template. The AI adds headings. Try: Say: "Exactly these five labels in order."
  • Markdown. The AI bolds labels. Try: Say: "Plain text."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
