About this exercise

Summarize the contract excerpt for the CEO in exactly five lines in plain text, starting Price:, Term and renewal:, Exit:, Liability:, Open questions:. Each of the first four lines is one sentence under 22 words and cites its section number. Open questions: lists exactly two questions for counsel separated by a semicolon, and must not say whether any term is acceptable. Use only the excerpt.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Giving advice on signing. The AI says the terms look acceptable. Try: Say: "Do not say whether any term is acceptable."
  • No section numbers. The AI summarizes without citations. Try: Say: "Cite the section number in each of the first four lines."
  • Wrong count of questions. The AI writes five questions. Try: Say: "Exactly two questions separated by a semicolon."
  • Wrong line structure. The AI adds headings. Try: Say: "Exactly five lines starting with these labels."
  • Markdown. The AI bolds the labels. Try: Say: "Plain text."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
