Write a benefits deadline reminder for text message
- For HR and recruiting
- You practice Asking for a format you can use
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Write one text message reminder to employees in plain text, at most 3 sentences and under 45 words. Include the deadline date and time, where to enroll, and who to ask. Start exactly with "Reminder:" and end exactly with "- Benefits Team". No emojis, no exclamation marks, and do not state which plan to choose.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Old date. The AI uses Nov 13. Try: Say: "Use the extended deadline, Nov 20 at 5:00 pm Eastern."
- Pushing a plan. The AI promotes Plus. Try: Say: "Do not say which plan to choose."
- Emoji and exclamations. The AI adds a calendar emoji and an exclamation mark. Try: Say: "No emojis, no exclamation marks."
- Missing start and end. The AI writes its own greeting and sign-off. Try: Say: "Start exactly with Reminder: and end exactly with - Benefits Team."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
- Markdown. The AI bolds words or adds headings. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold."
