About this exercise
Reply to Lucas in plain text, under 90 words. First line exactly: Subject: Re: Home office stipend. Answer only from the policy: the amount, what is covered, and how to claim. Say a standing desk is covered and a gaming chair is not if the policy says so. Do not approve the specific purchase. Last line exactly: Thanks, People Team. HR reviews before sending.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Old policy. The AI says $300 a year. Try: Say: "Use the policy effective Jan 2026: $500 once."
- Approving the purchase. The AI says 'both purchases will be reimbursed'. Try: Say: "Do not approve the specific purchase."
- Exact lines. The AI writes its own subject and sign-off. Try: Say: "First and last lines exactly as given."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
- Markdown. The AI bolds words or adds headings. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
