Route employee questions to the right owner
- For HR and recruiting
- You practice Asking for a format you can use
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Advanced
About this exercise
Route each of the five employee questions and return a table with the header # | Route | Why. Route is exactly one of: Answer from handbook, Benefits team, People Partner, Legal review. Why is under 12 words and quotes or names the handbook line when the route is Answer from handbook. Choose Legal review for anything that asks what the law requires or involves a dispute. Do not answer the questions. Plain text, no bold. HR reviews the routing.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Answering the questions. The AI says '10 holidays' and explains the law. Try: Say: "Do not answer the questions, only route them."
- Legal conclusions. The AI says the training repayment is legal or illegal. Try: Say: "Legal review for anything asking what the law requires."
- Invented routes. The AI writes 'HR' or 'Payroll'. Try: Say: "Route is exactly one of the four options."
- Table. The AI adds columns. Try: Say: "Header exactly # | Route | Why, five rows."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
- Markdown. The AI bolds words or adds headings. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
