Answer life-event benefits questions with the right deadline
- For HR and recruiting
- You practice Keeping the AI to your sources
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Answer the three employee questions in the material as a Q&A in plain text: "Q: ..." then "A: ...". Each answer under 30 words. Calculate the deadline date from the rule and the event date, and show it as Mon Day. If the notes do not answer, the answer is exactly: Ask the Benefits team. Do not give legal conclusions or say whether a change will be approved.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Old 60 days. The AI says Dec 23. Try: Say: "Use the 30-day rule and count from Oct 24. October has 31 days."
- Guessing orthodontics. The AI says it probably is not covered. Try: Say: "If the notes do not answer, reply exactly: Ask the Benefits team."
- Format. The AI writes paragraphs. Try: Say: "Three Q:/A: pairs in order."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
- Markdown. The AI bolds words or adds headings. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
