About this exercise

Turn the notes into an offboarding checklist in plain text. Group tasks under three headings exactly: IT, HR, Manager. Each task is one line starting with "[ ] " and under 12 words. Include only tasks the notes mention and put the date after the task when the notes give one. At most 12 tasks. HR reviews before it goes out.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Wrong owners. The AI puts the email forward under HR. Try: Say: "Group under IT, HR, Manager based on who the notes name."
  • Bullet style. The AI uses dashes or long sentences. Try: Say: "Each line starts with [ ] and is under 12 words."
  • Padding with extras. The AI adds standard tasks like return parking pass. Try: Say: "Only tasks from the notes. Leave out the lunch and desk."
  • Markdown. The AI bolds words or adds headings. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."

What a strong prompt includes

  • Exact headings
  • Checkbox format
  • Word limit per line
