Lay out a first-week onboarding plan as a table
- For HR and recruiting
- You practice Asking for a format you can use
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Build a week-one plan for the new hire as a table with the header Day | Time | Activity | Who. One row per activity, ordered by day and time, using only activities in the notes. Plain text, no bold, under 160 words. Do not invent any activity or time. Any activity without a confirmed time shows "TBC" in the Time column. HR reviews before it is sent.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Inventing times. The AI fills in a time for Thursday or the training. Try: Say: "Show TBC when the notes give no time."
- Adding extras. The AI includes the CEO coffee or the payroll tour. Try: Say: "Only activities in the notes that are booked."
- Different columns. The AI adds a Notes column or reorders. Try: Say: "Header exactly Day | Time | Activity | Who, ordered by day and time."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
- Markdown. The AI bolds words or adds headings. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
What a strong prompt includes

- TBC rule
