Make English phrasal verb cards from a real meeting

About this exercise

You're learning English at work and got lost in a meeting full of phrasal verbs. Get exactly 5 numbered cards, one per phrasal verb that appears in the transcript, formatted "1. phrasal verb = simple meaning | From the meeting: quote". Each meaning is under 6 words, the quote is copied from the transcript, under 120 words in total, plain text, and skip the ones you already know.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Getting a textbook list. Ask to 'explain phrasal verbs' and the AI gives 20 common ones, not the ones from your meeting. Try: Add: "Only phrasal verbs that appear in this transcript."
  • Repeating what you know. The AI includes 'follow up' and 'look into' even though you know them. Try: Add: "Skip follow up, look into and let know."
  • Made-up examples. The AI writes its own example sentences instead of the real line you heard. Try: Add: "Quote the exact line from the meeting."
  • Hard meanings. The AI's definitions use words just as hard as the phrasal verb. Try: Add: "Each meaning under 6 simple words."
  • No card shape. The AI writes a paragraph per verb with grammar notes. Try: Show it: "1. kick off = start | From the meeting: Okay, let's kick off."
  • Forgetting where it's going. AI adds bold and headings that show up as stray symbols in a printed card. Try: Add: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."

What a strong prompt includes
