About this exercise

Your German 201 quiz covers dative prepositions. Get a line starting "Rule:" under 40 words, then exactly 3 numbered fill-in-the-blank sentences in German where the blank is the article, then a line "Answers" and the answer key. Under 120 words, plain text. Use only the prepositions on your professor's list, and note that one you wrote down is not dative.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Getting a grammar lecture. Ask to 'explain' and the AI writes a long guide with tables and every case, and no practice. Try: Ask for the shape: "Rule: line, 3 practice sentences, then Answers."
  • Missing the correction. Your notes still list 'für', and many lists online mix it in. Try: Add: "für is accusative; leave it out."
  • Going beyond the quiz. The AI adds two-way prepositions like 'in' and 'auf', which aren't on your quiz. Try: Add: "Use only aus, bei, mit, nach, seit, von, zu."
  • Answers mixed in. The AI puts the answer right after each sentence, so you can't test yourself. Try: Add: "Put all answers after sentence 3 under a line that says Answers."
  • Forgetting where it's going. AI adds bold and headings that show up as stray symbols in a printed study sheet. Try: Add: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."

What a strong prompt includes

  • Flags the correction
  • Says how many sentences
