About this exercise
Write a customer email about a price increase, in plain text, under 120 words. Line 1 exactly: Subject: A price change starting March 1. The first sentence states the change with old and new prices. Then give the reason in one sentence, what customers on annual plans keep, and how to reach you. Last line exactly: Thank you for being our customer. Do not use urgency tricks, discounts not in the notes, or the words unfortunately and valued.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Urgency language. The AI says 'act now'. Try: Say: "No urgency language."
- Wrong cost figure. The AI uses 15%. Try: Say: "Costs rose about 12%."
- Inventing a discount. The AI offers a loyalty discount. Try: Say: "No discount is planned."
- Wrong subject or ending. The AI changes them. Try: Say: "Use the exact subject and last line."
- Markdown. The AI bolds prices. Try: Say: "Plain text."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap it: "each sentence under 22 words."
