About this exercise
Fill a development plan for Mei with exactly these labels, one per line, in plain text: Goal:, Evidence so far:, Next step:, Support from me:, Check-in date:. Use only what the notes say. Leave out the performance rating and anything about pay or promotion. Evidence so far has two specific examples with dates. Under 100 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Including the rating. The AI writes "currently a 3 out of 5". Try: Say: "Leave out the performance rating and anything about pay."
- Vague evidence. The AI says "has shown progress". Try: Say: "Two specific examples with dates."
- Changing the template. The AI adds a summary paragraph. Try: Say: "Exactly these five labels in order."
- Missing support details. The AI says "I will support her". Try: Say: "List what I will do, with timing."
- Markdown. The AI bolds labels. Try: Say: "Plain text."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
