- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Rewrite this generic praise so it is specific and warm. Write exactly 3 sentences in plain text, under 65 words, addressed to Mei. Sentence 1 starts with "Mei," and names what she did with the number from the notes. Sentence 2 names the effect on the team or a customer. Sentence 3 starts with "Thank you" and is in your own words. Do not use the words great, awesome or amazing and do not mention her promotion chances.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Too many sentences. The AI writes a long paragraph of praise. Try: Say: "Exactly 3 sentences."
- Generic wording. The AI keeps 'great job' and 'awesome work'. Try: Say: "Ban great, awesome and amazing; use the real numbers."
- No specific action. The AI praises 'dedication' without naming the sheet. Try: Say: "Sentence 1: what she did, with the 6-to-1-hour number."
- Missing the effect. The AI stops at the action and skips who benefited. Try: Say: "Sentence 2: the effect on the team or a customer."
- Promising a promotion. The AI hints at the senior role. Try: Say: "Do not mention promotion or the senior role."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each sentence: "each sentence under 20 words."
