About this exercise
Fill in the nomination form with exactly these fields, one per line, in plain text: Nominee:, Team:, What they did:, Result:, Dates:. What they did is one sentence under 25 words. Result must include both numbers from the notes. Use no superlatives such as best, amazing, incredible or saved the company. Under 70 words in all.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Copying the hype. The AI keeps "amazing" and "saved the company". Try: Say: "Use no superlatives; facts only."
- Vague result. The AI writes "reduced the backlog". Try: Say: "Result must include both numbers, 212 and 64."
- Adding the birthday. The AI includes irrelevant detail. Try: Say: "Leave out anything not about the work."
- Changing the form. The AI adds a quote field or a heading. Try: Say: "Exactly these five fields in order."
- Markdown. The AI bolds field names. Try: Say: "Plain text."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
What a strong prompt includes
- Lists the five fields
- Bans superlatives
- Requires both numbers
- Caps the sentence
- Plain text
