About this exercise

Your VP wants product updates in plain words, the way you'd say them to a new hire. Rewrite this draft in first person plural ("we"), under 75 words, with no jargon (no leverage, synergy, north star, unlock, double-click, learnings). Keep every fact and number exactly as given. Start with exactly the words "Quick update:" and write exactly 4 sentences in one paragraph.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Polishing instead of plain. The AI swaps one buzzword for another, like 'harnessing insights'. Try: List the banned words and add: "Say it like you'd explain it to a new hire."
  • Dropping a number. The AI shortens and loses the iOS comparison or the 10% rollout. Try: Add: "Keep every fact and number exactly."
  • Losing the condition. The AI states the Dec 2 launch as certain. Try: Add: "Keep that it still needs legal sign-off."
  • Adding formatting. The AI turns it into a bolded mini-report. Try: Add: "Plain text paragraph, under 70 words."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead: "each line under 15 words."
  • Too many sentences. The AI expands the update into 6 or 7 sentences. Try: Add: "Exactly 4 sentences in one paragraph."
