Spot what changed in a car insurance renewal
- For Office and admin

- Time about 5 minutes
About this exercise
Your car insurance renewal arrived and the price went up. Compare it with last year and get exactly 4 numbered lines in plain text, under 80 words: 1. the 6-month premium change with the subtraction shown; 2 and 3. the two coverage changes, each with old and new numbers; 4. one question for your agent, starting "Ask:". Use only the renewal notice. Write a prompt that gets you exactly that.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Not asking for the math. The AI says the price went up without the exact difference. Try: Add: "Line 1: new minus old, with the subtraction shown."
- Missing the quiet changes. The AI focuses on the price and misses that coverage dropped while it rose. Try: Add: "Lines 2 and 3: the coverage changes, old and new."
- Repeating the coworker. The AI blames your credit score, which the notice never mentions. Try: Add: "Use only the notice. Line 4: Ask: one question for my agent."
- Getting an insurance explainer. The AI explains every coverage type with headings. Try: Say: "Exactly 4 numbered lines. Plain text."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for "under 80 words" and it often lands well over. Try: Cap each part: "each line under 16 words."
