Build a webinar run of show after a speaker change
Practice: Giving the right context. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're producing a 45-minute customer webinar and need the run of show for the speakers. You want exactly 5 numbered lines in time order, each as start time - segment - speaker, starting at 12:00 and ending by 12:45, under 50 words, plain text. Use the replacement speaker and the shortened segment from the latest email, and leave out internal promo notes. Write a prompt that gets you exactly that.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Missing the speaker change. The draft names Dr. Alvarez, and the AI keeps her. Try: Add: "Use Jo's latest email: Priya does soil prep for 10 minutes."
- Not redoing the times. The AI keeps the old start times, so later segments don't line up. Try: Add: "Recalculate start times from 12:00, with Q&A now 15 minutes."
- Leaking internal notes. The AI adds the discount code to the speaker sheet. Try: Add: "Leave out internal notes."
- Letting the AI pick the layout. The AI writes a table with notes per segment. Try: Be exact: "Exactly 5 numbered lines like '1. 12:00 - Welcome - Jo'. Plain text."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for "under 50 words" and it often lands well over. Try: Cap each part instead: "each line under 8 words."
What a strong prompt includes
- Says how many lines
- Uses the latest email
- Recalculates times
- Hides internal notes
- Sets a word limit
