Time an 8-minute capstone talk with the corrected sample
- For College students
- You practice Keeping the AI to your sources
- Time about 5 minutes
About this exercise
You present your psychology capstone in exactly 8 minutes over 4 slides: Question, Method, Results, Takeaway. Write exactly 4 numbered lines, each starting with a time range in brackets like [0:00-1:30], back to back from 0:00 to 8:00, with Results getting the most time, then what to say in under 30 words. Your advisor corrected the sample size, so use the new one. Plain text, under 170 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the old sample size. The method notes say 120, and the AI repeats it. Try: Add: "Use n = 112 from Dr. Sato's comment."
- No timing. The AI writes a script without telling you how long each part takes. Try: Add: "Start each line with a time range, back to back to 8:00."
- Even time split. The AI gives every slide 2 minutes, but Results needs the most. Try: Add: "Give Results the longest time."
- A full speech. The AI writes paragraphs with headers per slide. Try: Say: "Exactly 4 numbered lines in the order Question, Method, Results, Takeaway. Plain text."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting words, so a total word cap usually lands over. Try: Cap each line: "each line under 30 words."
