- For Recruiters
- You practice Asking for a format you can use
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Rewrite the job blurb as exactly three sentences in plain text, under 65 words. Sentence 1: what the person does, beginning with "You will". Sentence 2: the location and schedule. Sentence 3: the pay range, ending with "Apply by Dec 4." Use no hype words like exciting, dynamic, fast-paced or world-class, and no exclamation marks. Use only facts in the blurb.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Hype stays. The AI keeps 'exciting' and 'fast-paced'. Try: Say: "No hype words like exciting, dynamic, fast-paced, world-class."
- Wrong order. The AI starts with the company pitch. Try: Say: "Sentence 1 duties, 2 location and schedule, 3 pay ending with Apply by Dec 4."
- Adding facts. The AI adds benefits or culture claims. Try: Say: "Use only facts in the blurb."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
- Markdown. The AI bolds words or adds headings. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
