About this exercise
Write a phone screen script for a recruiter in plain text, under 150 words, with three labeled parts: Open:, Questions:, Close:. Open: is two sentences. Questions: has exactly 4 lines starting with "- ", each asking one job-related thing from the must-haves in the notes, none about age, family, health, origin or current salary. Close: tells her the next step and the date she will hear back. HR reviews before use.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Salary history. The AI asks what she earns now. Try: Say: "Do not ask about current salary."
- Too many questions. The AI writes 8 questions. Try: Say: "Exactly 4 lines starting with '- ', one must-have each."
- Missing close. The AI ends without the date. Try: Say: "Close with the next step and the date she will hear back."
- Labels. The AI uses its own headings. Try: Say: "Parts labeled Open:, Questions:, Close:."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
- Markdown. The AI bolds words or adds headings. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
